Next Generation Focus (NGF), a public charity that is exempt from Federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, is the brainchild of Amy Sol, a resident of Forsyth County, Georgia.  Amy has a heart for children and loves helping uplift the future generation.

By addressing academic deficiencies early, NGF increases the chances for our children to succeed in middle school, high school, and beyond, reaching their full potential in life. Our program also provides a safe haven for children to thrive academically and socio-emotionally, which will reduce juvenile crime in the long run. NGF hopes to help end the cycle of poverty by focusing on education and youth development.

NGF focuses in providing underprivileged children in Pre-K – 8th grades the opportunity to participate in educational programs and other life-enrichment activities which they may not otherwise be able to access.  We have an early literacy program to help children who are struggling with reading.  NGF partners with schools to identify eligible children; the students are nominated by social workers, counselors, and teachers.

Our SmarterMe® Programs:
  • Provide low-cost, grade-appropriate, and individualized tutoring and enrichment in reading, mathematics, and STEAM according to school district standards
  • Expose children to new ideas and skills
  • Teach teamwork, leadership, good work ethics, and fair-play
  • Promote self-esteem, self-confidence, and respect for others
  • Provide a safe place to socialize and make new friends

We intentionally recruit local high school teens as our SmarterMe® tutors and mentors.   Our teens are the reason our children respond so well to the curriculum created by our wonderful teachers. As SmarterMe® volunteers, our teens learn about social responsibility, develop empathy and enhance their leadership skills. Though volunteering is not required, NGF encourages all sponsored children and their families to participate in volunteer activities, because volunteering benefits the community as well as enriches character.

Since 2008, NGF has served more than 3,000 students (see our Timeline).  During the school year of 2017 to 2018, our team of 40+ adult and teen volunteers  served over 400 PreK-8 students from multiple schools in the Forsyth and Gwinnett Counties of Georgia.  Our Board and staff at NGF are passionate about helping children; we strive to stretch every dollar for our students (see our 990-EZ Form 2014, 2015, and 2016).  If you would like to donate time or money, you can find more information at Contact Us.
