NGF Internships

The NGF Intern program is a cohort-based model open to upper high school and college students. Interns are able to serve with any of our programs (in-person Norcross, in-person Lawrenceville, in-person Atlanta, or virtually). The NGF intern has a heavy presence both as a mentor and leader. They play a vital role in facilitating SmarterMe® classes by providing instruction, program oversight, and student support.

Timeline

Internship applications open each spring for the following school year. Applications for the 2026-2027 cohort will be open from Wednesday, April 1st to Friday, May 1st at 11:59 PM.

Interested? The 26-27 application form can be found here.

Once selected, cohorts serve for an entire school year, from August to May. Interns’ responsibilities are program-based, meaning interns serve during afterschool program hours which operate Monday – Friday. To view specific program hours, visit our Afterschool Academy and Virtual Learning pages.

Responsibilities

  • Interns provide administrative, project, and program support

Work-Based Learning

Tutoring is a great way to build important soft skills such as responsibility, leadership, confidence, organization, time management, communication, and problem solving. NGF is a place for our students and tutors to grow together. Interns and eligible tutors (serving for a minimum of 10 hours per week) may apply through their school’s Work Based Learning coordinator to gain credit for Employable Skill Development through their service with NGF.

  • Maintain a consistent schedule and attendance
