August 10, 2017 – Cumming, GA – Next Generation Focus (NGF) is pleased to announce it has received a grant of $5,000 from John and Mary Franklin Foundation. It is the first time NGF has received funding from the Franklin Foundation. These funds will support NGF’s anchor program SmarterMe® Academy and Summer.
SmarterMe® Academy and Summer Program aim to help PreK-8 students from low-income families, who are a grade level or more behind their peers in reading, mathematics, and other subjects. SmarterMe® Programs provide students with subsidized tutoring on reading, math and other grade-appropriate subjects, as well as STEM enrichment activities. During the SmarterMe® Academy Program students attend sessions four times a week, on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings during the school year. During SmarterMe® Summer Program students attend classes during the summer months to retain what they have learned during the school year.
